Big Catch
A free live quiz game for the classroom
A fishing game on a lake. Every right answer is a cast, and the heaviest haul wins. There are no steals, so nobody loses what they have caught.
The class board during a game of Big Catch.
How a round plays
- A right answer earns a cast. The pupil picks one of three bobbers.
- Each bobber hides a fish and its weight, from a soggy boot to a prize fish of 70 lb or more.
- A wrong answer means the fish slips the hook. Nothing is lost.
- Streaks of 5 and 8 bring a second hook and bigger fish. The heaviest haul when time runs out wins.
On the board: Every pupil's boat on the lake in ranked order, with a Catch of the Day case and the class's catches.
