Edexcel Economics B homework for every sub-point

Steve Benton, computing teacher and founder of SubjectHub

The first version of our Edexcel Economics B homework had one 20-question set per theme. Four homeworks for a two-year course is not a homework a week. It was not much use to anyone planning one.

One Edexcel Economics B homework per sub-point

So I rebuilt it the way the course is taught: one homework for every sub-point of the specification, 85 in all. Theme 1 has 23, Theme 2 has 24, and Themes 3 and 4 have 19 each.

Each one is named by its sub-point, so "Homework: 1.1.1 The economic problem" is exactly what it says.

The Economics B homework course, one homework per sub-point.

What one homework looks like

Eight questions, about 20 to 25 marks. It starts with quick knowledge checks and ends with a harder written question worth 4 to 6 marks. The written answers are marked against a mark scheme and come back with feedback a student can act on. You can change any mark.

That last question is the one I would read first. It shows who can use the idea in context, not just define it.

The homeworks are in the Business and Economics package, alongside GCSE Business and BTEC Enterprise. The Business and Economics page has the full list, and the pricing page explains packages and the current offer.
