Set weekly homework for a whole term in one go
Steve Benton, computing teacher and founder of SubjectHub
Setting homework one piece at a time is fine in September. By November it is the job you remember on Thursday night, and the class gets whatever you can find. I wanted a way to set weekly homework for a whole term at once, and then stop thinking about it.
How to set weekly homework for a whole term
Pick a ready-made course for your exam board, press Set and choose the class. Every piece of work in it is set at once, each with its own due date a week after the last.
The courses are weekly homework, five-a-day starters, topic tests and mock papers. They are already in teaching order, so the first piece is the first topic.
The dates are the part that matters
Pupils see each piece with its own deadline, not a wall of twenty tasks due at once. If the class falls behind, you can move any date afterwards.
The work is marked as pupils hand it in, so the results are there when you next look. You do not have to collect anything in.
The how it works page walks through the whole route, from picking a course to reading the results. The Resource Library is the place to browse the courses first.
