R093 practice questions: storyboards and mind maps

The nine-mark R093 questions ask you to improve or create a pre-production document for a named user. Practise 31 of them here, in the same editor the Studios use. Every answer gets a free check straight away; sign in for the full mark and feedback.

Storyboards

Improve a draft for the camera operator or video editor, or plan one from a brief: shots, angles, timings, sound and notes. Prefer a blank page? Open Storyboard Studio.

Mind maps

Regroup, link and annotate a messy draft for its user, or plan the content of a campaign from a brief. Prefer a blank page? Open Mind Map Studio.

How these are checked

Storyboards are marked on the rule OCR's mark schemes use: the number of storyboard techniques used consistently on every panel the user needs decides the level, and notes that explain how each choice helps the user lift the mark within it. The free check counts the techniques and the running time and estimates the level; the full mark reads your notes too. How R093 is marked explains the levels.

Questions

Is this the real exam?

No. It is a practice question in the style of OCR's R093 paper: a client scenario, a document for a named user, and an extended answer marked by three levels. SubjectHub wrote it from the specification and the published mark schemes; the real papers are set by OCR.

How is it marked?

Straight away and for free, code checks your answer. On a storyboard it counts the techniques you used consistently on every panel the user needs, checks the running time and estimates your level; on a mind map it counts the central node, the main and developed branches and your notes. With a free account you also get the full mark: your notes and ideas are judged against the brief and OCR's three levels, and you get a mark, the level, feedback and one next step.

Do I need an account?

No, not to try it: answer it here and get the free check. For the full mark and examiner-style feedback, create a free account. Sign-up opens in a new tab, so your answer stays on this page, and it is kept in this browser if you come back later. Signed-in users get 10 full marks a day.
